We are currently looking for a new pastor following the retirement of Rev. William Maxwell who served with us for 20 years.

Director of Music Ministries: David Warfield
David C. Warfield has been the Director of Music Ministries at the First Presbyterian Church since April of 2013. He has previously served churches in Connecticut, New Hampshire and California. His first church was in New London, Connecticut, at the age of 15. David was Music Director for the Granite State Choral Society (NH) from 1989 through 1998, leading the Society’s concert seasons with diverse musical styles including major works of Bach, Mozart, Handel, to more contemporary works of Ray, Rutter and a most memorable Tribute to Veterans. He has served on the board of the American Guild of Organists and is a past State Chair for the Handbell Musicians of America. David retired in 2005 from a 35-year career with the Federal Government. His last position was as the Administrative Officer with the Department of Homeland Security (Transportation Security Administration) at Bradley International Airport. David and wife Karen live in a historic home in Norwich with their three dogs.

Director of Youth and Family Ministries: Bradford Fuller
Bradford Fuller joined the staff of First Presbyterian Church of Newport in August 2016. Born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Bradford graduated from Calvin College with a B.A. in Political Science, headed Washington, DC and served in and around Congress for five years. During that time, he felt God calling him in a different direction. Following his marriage to the lovely Heather Van Den Heuvel, he joined her at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary where the two of them pursued degrees and ultimately a future in ministry together. After a few years, they were called as a team to be the Youth and Children’s Directors at the American Protestant Church of the Hague. While overseas they were blessed by the birth of two daughters, Lilybelle and Ainsley. Upon returning stateside, Bradford worked to complete his degree at Gordon-Conwell and served as the Sunday Night Family Pastor at Park Street Church in Boston. He and his family are blessed to be called to Newport to continue serving families in ministry.
