Sarah Circle. This group offers three meeting times and locations to accommodate the diverse schedules of 21st century Christian women. The meeting times are Tuesday morning, afternoon or evening at the church. Child care is available during the Tuesday morning study.
The first study for 2007-2008 was a Women of Faith book, Hope: The Anchor for Your Soul. The next is a seven-week study of Colossians, which also has much to say about hope.
Deborah & Naomi Circles. These groups meet regularly at individual homes for Bible study and fellowship. Deborah Circle meets the third Tuesday of the month at 9:30 a.m. Naomi Circle meets the first Tuesday of the month at 12:30 p.m. Please refer to our church bulletin and newsletter for more information about meetings and study topics.
Monday Intergenerational Women’s Bible Study. This study meets every Monday throughout the year at a private home in Portsmouth. Members are currently studying A Woman of Love: The Story of Ruth by Dee Brestin.
Cancer Sewing Group. Join this lively group as they enjoy great conversation while busily converting used button-down shirts into hospital jonnies for underprivileged cancer patients. The teapot is ready!
These ladies gather every Monday in the Hometime room (from September through June) to turn donated shirts into “jonnies” that are sent to hospitals in less-developed countries. If you are handy with a needle and would like to provide a bit of comfort to those in need, please see Marge White.
Ladies Night Out. This monthly gathering is an opportunity for women ages 20 to 40-something to get away from all those “hats” they wear day-in and day-out and to just be themselves. Look in the weekly bulletin, monthly newsletter, or call Becky Farwick for more information.
Retreats. For the past five years First Presbyterian Church Women’s Ministries has organized a Spring Women’s Retreat. The 2008 retreat is scheduled for May 2 – 4, 2008 at the Campion Retreat Center in Weston, Massachusetts. More information will be available in upcoming months.
Secret Pal Club. Several ladies of the church have secret pals for whom they pray daily and choose a Christmas gift.
