2008 Spring Conference
The men
of FPC Promise Keepers are sponsoring a one-day men's
retreat as part of the Iron Sharpens Iron National
Conference series. The date is Saturday May 10 and we will
travel in a car caravan to the first Assembly of God church
in Worcester, MA. Keynote speakers that day will be Joseph
Garlington and Chuck Colson.
Garlington is the senior pastor of Covenant Church of
Pittsburgh, a multiracial and cross-cultural community
which he founded in 1971. Bishop Garlington is an
accomplished musician, recording artist, author and
teacher. His preaching and teaching ministry has made him a
popular speaker at Promise Keepers and many national
conferences.
Chuck Colson entered prison as a new Christian and as the
first member of the Nixon administration to be incarcerated
for Watergate-related charges. After prison, Colson founded
Prison Fellowship Ministries, which now mobilizes more than
40,000 prison ministry volunteers. Chuck also launched the
radio feature "Breakpoint," aired daily on over 1,000 radio
outlets nationwide.
